Getting your Trinity Audio player ready...

Troup’s offense stalled in a 55-45 loss to region foe North Clayton on Saturday.

The first quarter showed promise as the Tigers went toe to toe with the home team and only trailed by one heading to the second. Unfortunately, the second quarter proved to be the Tigers undoing as the offense struggled to get going, finishing with just five points in the quarter.

Troup’s struggles in the second quarter meant that the team trailed by double digits at halftime. The Tigers kept fighting, but could not find a way to get back into the game.

Dee Moreland led the Tiger offense with 14 points while leading scorer on the season Deo’Vion Tucker scored 12 points. The Tigers had eight players score in total, but no other player besides Tucker and Moreland had more than seven points.

Troup missed 10 free throws in the game and if the Tigers were more accurate from the free throw line it might have been a different game.

Troup fell to 7-6 overall and 0-2 in region play. The Tigers are looking to recapture some of that momentum from 2022. Troup will be away to region opponent Whitewater on Tuesday.
