The LaGrange Police Department has corrected the identity of a woman arrested for aggravated assault and other charges after determining she gave police the wrong name when taken into custody.

Originally, on Jan. 10, a female was arrested at the Red Roof Inn, located at 2606 Whitesville Road, in reference to a robbery where a cell phone had been stolen. The female suspect told the LPD that their name was Regina Foreman. However, the LPD has determined that the suspect’s real name is 46-year-old Leanna Aileen Ziel Stoy. According to a LPD press release, Stoy was booked on the charges of aggravated assault, strong arm robbery, VGCSA possession of a schedule 2 controlled substance, VGCSA possession of a schedule 4 controlled substance (2 Counts), and possession of drug related object. Stoy was also charged with giving false statements and writings.

The LPD said the investigation determined that Foreman was at the scene at the time of the incident but did not participate in any criminal activity. Foreman is not a suspect in this case, and all warrants in her name regarding this case have been dismissed.
Stoy had outstanding arrest warrants in Savannah, Georgia and Albany, Georgia at the time of her arrest.
