Jackson Malone is clutch.

The junior scored seven of the Warriors nine points in a 50-46 overtime region win for LaGrange Academy over Flint River on Tuesday.

Malone finished the game with 18 points but entered the fourth quarter with just four points. He proceeded to score seven points in the fourth before taking over in the overtime period.

The game was truly back-and-forth with the game tied after the first quarter at 13. The Warriors were able to take a one point lead into halftime. They were able to stretch that lead out to four points heading into the fourth quarter, but Flint River was able to mount a comeback in the fourth.

Alex Jarvholm helped spark the Warrior offense with 16 points — all during the first three quarters of the game. Sam Anderson was relatively quiet by his standards but was still able to score eight points.

This was a much needed region win for the Warriors, who came close to winning their region home opener last Friday in a 45-42 loss to St. George’s.

LaGrange Academy improved to 4-10 overall and 1-2 in region play. The Warriors will play region leader Oak Mountain Academy at home on Friday.
