It was the Jazmin Thornton show on the road as she led LaGrange Academy to a dominant 72-20 win over Flint River on Tuesday.

Thornton was her usual clinical self but went supernova on offense to lead the Warriors with 45 points. She finished the first quarter with 19 points and finished the first half with 32 points. What was most remarkable about her performance was the fact that none of her 45 points came from the free throw line and only connected on three 3-pointers.

It was light work for the Warriors who took a 23-4 lead after the first quarter and extended that lead out to 47-12 at the halftime break with LaGrange Academy on cruise control in the second half.

After missing a couple of games, Anna Beth Kinnersley was second on the team with 15 points. Kayla McBride chipped in with nine points and Tesia Garrett-Hammett had eight to help lead the way for the Warrior offense.

The team’s defense has ben stellar all season and continued to be on Tuesday.

No. 1 LaGrange Academy improves to 12-1 overall and 2-0 in region play. The Warriors will have a short break before continuing their campaign Monday away at Heritage.
