LaGrange rolled over Trinity Christian 65-47 to avenge a road loss to the Lions on Saturday.
After giving up over 70 points in the first meeting on the road, the Grangers buckled down on defense and limited what the Lions could do offensively.
The Grangers took an 11-7 lead after the opening quarter and were able to take a double-digit lead late in the second quarter when Bj Wortham connected on a 3-pointer. The Grangers never looked back and were able to take a comfortable lead to the fourth quarter and deploy some of their less-experienced reserves.
Wortham was outstanding leading the offense and finished with 14 points despite not scoring in the first quarter. Devin Dowell finished as the Grangers highest scorer in the game with 20 points. Garrett Jacobsen went to work early and scored seven of his 11 points in the first quarter. Jacobsen also connected with Dowell on an alley-oop in the fourth quarter that got the entire crowd on its feet.
LaGrange improved to 16-4 overall and 7-2 in region play. The Grangers will be back in action away to Whitewater on Friday, which could prove crucial in the final regular season region standings. LaGrange is currently second in the region standings and the Wildcats are third.
