Over the last couple of months, we have been showcasing TCSS’s diverse roster of educators chosen as Teacher of the Year, with each receiving their own spotlight feature. Each with their own unique flair, they’ve all had something in common — their reason for teaching.

All of the 26 teachers nominated for Teacher of the Year, said their “why?” starts and ends with the passion of wanting to help children learn.

It should be comforting for parents that Troup County has so many educators dedicated to curating new generations of thinkers and doers.

From coaches to language arts teachers for the big kids and little ones, the impact and representation of different educators play a big part in showing our children that you too can grow up to be a teacher, no matter where you come from.

These teachers have not only shown that an educator can come from different backgrounds but you can initially set out to follow one dream and find another along the way. A dream doesn’t have to look a certain way or follow a certain path.

When you bake a recipe, there are specific ingredients needed to create the perfect dish.

These stories were a reminder that there’s a lot of unique educators out there, all with their own refreshing way of instructing our children. While there are standards to follow and policies to uphold, great teachers find a way to motivate our students in the classroom.

We thank all of the teachers of the year in the Troup County School System for the work they do in the classroom and once again we say congratulations.
