Troup fell just short on the road to Starr’s Mill on Tuesday as the Tigers suffered a narrow 66-62 loss.

It was truly a four quarter war with the game tied at 14 after the opening quarter. Starr’s Mill was able to capture a narrow two-point lead heading to halftime, but the Tigers flipped the script to open the second half and took the slenderest of leads into the fourth and final quarter — just a single point.

The Panthers connected on all 14 of their free throw attempts in the fourth quarter to shut the door on the Tigers.

Dee Moreland led the way for the Tigers and finished with 19 points, including 15 in the second half. Taeo Todd was second on the team with 12 points, and Desmon Cunningham scored 10 to round out the Tigers in double figures. Deo’Vion Tucker scored nine points with Jalen Brown scoring five and Qua Birdsong chipping in with four points. Qua Moss scored three points to round out the scoring for the Tigers.

Troup fell to 8-10 overall and 1-6 in region play. The Tigers return to the court on Thursday when they host region leader Fayette County.
