The LaGrange boys soccer team took a trip to Alabama to take on Smiths Station and returned to Troup County with a hard earned 3-1 win.

The game was in a bit of a stalemate before Davis Knight broke the game open with a goal on a Cade Hollstrom assist with 10:05 left in the first half.

The Grangers were able to grab the all important second goal within 10 minutes of the second half starting when Knight dispatched his second goal of the game — this time from the penalty spot. Jordan Bryant got in on the action to make it 3-0 Grangers when he scored with 6:06 left in the game on an assist from Ty Ormsby.

The Panthers were able to grab a goal back with just under two minutes to go but the game was done and dusted by that point.

LaGrange improved to 2-5 on the season. The Grangers will be back in action on Monday against one of the best teams in the state  — Columbus.
