The Callaway boys soccer team was left frustrated after taking a 3-1 loss to Central Carrollton on Wednesday.
The Cavaliers were able to capture a lead in the first half when Nelson Herrera pulled off a beautiful chip on the goalie from near midfield with just 20 minutes off the clock. This allowed the Cavaliers to take a 1-0 lead into halftime.
Connor Davis was credited for an assist on the goal.
It all unraveled for the Cavaliers from there as they conceded two penalties and had a player sent off in the second half. Central capitalized on the Cavaliers’ mistakes and punished them.
It was a chippy game with multiple cards issues and 25 total fouls in the game.
Brayden Morris had one of his best showings in goal so far this season, making 10 saves in the match.
The loss snapped a three game win streak for Callaway who dropped to 4-3 on the season. The Cavaliers will be back in action on Friday when they take on New Manchester at home.
