The LaGrange-Troup County Chamber of Commerce and The LaGrange Daily News are partnering for a candidate forum on Thursday, Feb. 23 featuring the candidates for LaGrange mayor.
Former Councilmen Willie Edmondson and Jim Arrington are running for the mayor seat.
The forum will start at 6 p.m. and will be streamed live on the LDN Facebook page. Limited seating will also be available at the chamber office.
“The Candidate Forum is an important event that allows our citizens to hear from candidates for local elected office and learn where they stand on key issues so they can make an informed decision,” said Chamber Chairman Brandon Eley. “The LaGrange-Troup County Chamber of Commerce is proud to be a convener of state and local elected officials along with business and industry in the community, and we are committed to working to make Troup County the best place in Georgia to do business.”
LaGrange Daily News Publisher and President Daniel Evans said he’s happy to partner with the chamber again for another forum.
“Citizens who attend and watch this forum will leave more informed and will have a better idea of who they’d like to vote for,” Evans said. “Obviously, the position of LaGrange mayor is vital to the continued growth of our city and to Troup County as a whole. We certainly hope citizens of LaGrange will tune in to hear directly from the candidates themselves.”
If time allows, audience questions will be accepted.
