Callaway is cruising.
The Cavalier girls soccer team is rolling and has now won seven straight with a 7-0 win over New Manchester.
The law firm of Baswell, Brown and McAteer controlled the game for the Cavaliers. Kate MacAteer led from the front and finished with a hat-trick of goals and an assist to her name. Her tally is now an unbelievable 20 goals and six assists in eight games.
Autumn Brown was equally as impressive, scoring four goals on the night. She is now up to eight goals and 11 assists and has taken major strides forward in her junior year. She carved up the New Manchester defense who had no answers for her pace and technical ability.
Mary Kate Baswell was the conductor, barking out commands to her fellow players as a vocal captain for the team. She was able to register a whopping four assists on the night and got the Cavaliers going quickly in transition. Baswell is now up to five goals and 10 assists on the year.
By halftime, the Cavaliers were up 5-0 and in complete control of the game. The second half saw the Cavalier take their foot of the gas as they slowed the game down and expended less energy.
Kadence Leithleiter continues to do all the dirty work in midfield and was rewarded for her hard work with an assist on the evening, setting up Brown’s third goal.
Raine Hunt made three saves to earn her third clean sheet in a row. Mya Lawton continues to be a brick wall in the heart of defense and has helped keep that streak going as well.
Callaway improved to 7-1 overall. The Cavaliers will return to the pitch next Tuesday away to Sandy Creek.
