LAGRANGE, Ga. – LaGrange (0-10) beach volleyball returned to the court and dropped a pair of 5-0 decisions to Huntingdon (6-2) and first-year program Lynchburg (2-3) in NCAA beach volleyball action on Friday, February 24.

HUNTINGDON 5, LAGRANGE 0

The Panthers’ No. 1 tandem of senior Bailey Moss (Jupiter, Fla.) and freshman Zentrina Choice (Sumter, S.C.) would drop the first set to Reece Rhodes and Ashlen Janowski before narrowly falling 21-17 in the second set.

Freshman Riley Morgan (Jackson, Ga.) and junior Carmen Hamilton (Alpharetta, Ga.) fell 21-12, 21-11 to Izzy Valldeperas and Veronica Tikhomirova at No. 2 before freshmen Morgan Martin (Chelsea, Ala.) and Alexis Childers (Adairsville, Ga.) delivered the most competitive match of the day. Taking on Eva Ellenburg and Ariel Helmick, they would just miss taking the first set 21-19 and fall 21-14 in the second.

Combined with a forfeit at the fifth spot, the Hawks would then close out the 5-0 victory as Lauren Hinton and Samantha Singleton defeated senior Vianca Colon-Gonzalez (Vega Baja, Puerto Rico) and freshman Rhaya Harwell (Austell, Ga.) by 21-16 and 21-9 scores at the No. 4 spot.

The Panthers return to action tomorrow, Saturday, February 24 when they take on Lynchburg and Huntingdon. First serve is set for 10 a.m. and 2 p.m., respectively, at the Strack Beach Volleyball Courts.
