Karvelas dominates to lead LCS to big road win

Lafayette Christian dominated New Creation on Monday to earn a 10-0 road victory.

David Karvelas stole the show, getting the start on the mound and completely controlling the New Creation bats. He pitched five innings and only allowed one hit on eight strikeouts. He added a hit to his statline as well.

The Cougar offense was quiet early but roared to life in the third inning with five runs to take a big lead. Paul Bastini got the action started with an RBI single to center field. The Cougars took three walks with the bases loaded as well as a Cody Bastini RBI single to take a 5-0 lead.

The Cougars added three runs in the fourth, one in the fifth and one in the sixth to close out the game in six innings. 

Braden Firth had another big game from the plate, going 1-for-2 with three runs scored and two walks. Matt Latour had a hit, two runs scored, two RBIs and two walks. 

Whit Bowden came off the bench and delivered a pinch hit RBI single in the sixth inning and scored a run as well.
Dalton Colquett pitched the final inning for the Cougars, striking out three batters to slam the door on New Creation. 

Lafayette Christian is now 3-1 on the season. The Cougars will travel to Holy Ground on Tuesday.
