Callaway loses region opener in overtime

The Callaway boys soccer team opened region play on Wednesday with a 6-4 loss to Towers in overtime on the road.
Despite the tough loss, freshman Ricky Vaughn continued his hot start to life as a Callaway High player and bagged two goals in the game. Senior Avery Brooks was able to grab a goal on the night.
Connor Davis played provider and assisted two goals in the match and also scored a sumptuous free kick. Dylan Stephens had his first assist of the season in his first match of the year.
The match was back-and-forth with the game going into overtime tied at three, but the Cavaliers could not pull it out of the fire in the end.
Callaway dropped to 5-4 overall and 0-1 in region play. The Cavaliers will be back in action next Tuesday on the road to region foe McNair.
