Bryant and Knight lead Grangers to dominant region win

The LaGrange boys soccer team cruised to an 8-0 win over Riverdale in their region opener on Thursday.

Davis Knight broke the deadlock in the 15 seconds of the game, finishing a Jordan Bryant assist for his first of two goals on the night. He scored his second mere minutes later, dispatching an assist from Luke Patton. Knight was done with his scoring after that but played provider from there, registering four assists in the game.

All four of Knight’s assists came on goals from Bryant, who scored two in the first half and two in the second.

Bo Beall got in on the action by scoring the Grangers first goal of the second half by coolly tapping the ball into an open net at the back post. Luke McSpadden scored the final goal of the game with 19 seconds left on an assist by Andy Patton. 

Reese Lester got the start in goal and kept a clean sheet for the Grangers, his second on the season and first since the opening night win over Northside. 

LaGrange improved to 3-6 overall and 1-0 in region play. The Grangers will be back on the pitch on Tuesday away to Trinity Christian for an important region match.
