The Callaway girls soccer team demolished Redan on Friday 10-0. The Cavaliers had no problems rolling over a team that was frankly not up to their standards.

Callaway was so dominant in the game that within 20 minutes the home team had a 7-0 lead. The Cavaliers went into cruise control after a furious opening 20 minutes as the team out some reserves on the field to get them some valuable minutes.

Kate McAteer was all over the Redan backline, capping off a first half hat-trick in less than 20 minutes while adding a fourth goal in the second half to go along with an assist.

Autumn Brown sliced up the Redan defense down the right flank and created numerous goal scoring opportunities, finishing with two goals and an assist.

Mary Kate Baswell continues to be the conductor in the engine room and linked the midfield to the attacking line, scoring two goals to go along with her hard work to win the ball back in advantageous positions for Callaway.

Kadence Leithleiter did the hard work in the middle of the park and with Redan pinned back inside their own box for the majority of the game, she got to be more industrious going up the field. She was able to grab a goal and an assist for her hard work. Aylin Ulloa also got on the scoresheet with a goal.

Raine Hunt made one save on the night and split time in goal with Alayna Leithleiter, who helped keep the Cavaliers’ fifth clean sheet in a row and seventh overall on the season.

Callaway has now rattled off nine wins in a row to improve to 9-1 on the season and is 2-0 in region play. The Cavaliers will be back in action on Tuesday away to Eagle’s Landing.
