The Troup baseball team had no troubles on Tuesday, swapping a doubleheader against Riverdale at home. The Tigers were utterly dominant despite not featuring the majority of their regular lineup. 

The first game saw the Tigers cruise to a 15-0 win in a game that lasted all of three innings. Troup scored five runs in the first, seven in the second and three in the third to close out the game.

A pair of Ethan’s — Goff and Hunt — were the stars of the show for the Tigers in the opening game. Goff started on the mound and went the full three innings, allowing just one hit. He helped his cause from the plate too, scoring three runs and getting a hit. Hunt was a force offensively, going 2-for-3 with four RBIs and two runs scored. 

Waylon Pemberton had a big game offensively as well, going 2-for-2 with three runs scored and two RBIs. 

Luke Wilson, Dylan Stotsky and Jake Richardson all had a hit in the game with Wilson and Stotsky driving in two runs apiece.

The second game was more of the same with the Tigers having no problem getting the win, cruising to an 18-0 over 2.5 innings. 

Troup scored six in the first inning before exploding for 12 runs in the second to put the game well out of reach. 

It was another game featuring a dominant pitching performance from a Tiger with Richardson pitching a one-hitter over three innings. He struck out five batters in his three innings of work. Richardson aided his cause from the plate, driving in a run and scoring one as well.

Stotsky built on a solid game one with a big performance in game two, going 3-for-3 with two RBIs and a run scored. Hunt continued his stellar play from game on by going 2-for-3 with three runs scored and an RBI. Caleb White got a start and proved more than up to the task, going 2-for-3 with two runs scored. Dylan Reeves provided instant offense from the top of the order, going 2-for-3 with three RBIs and two runs scored. 

Troup has now won four games in a row to improve to 12-8 overall and 4-4 in region play. The Tigers will be back on the diamond on Friday when they travel to Fayette County for an important region game.
