The Callaway boys soccer team lost a back-and-forth game to Heritage on Thursday. After scoring the opening goal in the fifth minute through Nelson Herrera, Callaway let the lead slip away in its regular season finale.

It was a game with chances and both ends. After Herrera broke the deadlock early, Heritage answered back and tied the game. The Cavaliers had a chance to get back out in front late in the first half but a shot from Greyson Batchelor clanged off the post and Rickey Vaughn could not put the follow up in the back of the net. Batchelor would eventually get his goal on an assist from Jayden Bailey.

Brayden Morris made save after save in goal, racking up 21 saves in total.

Callaway finished 11-7 overall and 5-2 in region play. The Cavaliers will be on the road for the opening round of the AA state playoffs on April 14.
