As rain moved into the area, our Facebook page was bombarded with questions Saturday morning. Everyone wanted to know if the Community Bank and Trust egg hunt was still on at Sweetland.

The hunt was still on, undeterred by a relatively quick rain shower.

And boy did LaGrange show up in droves.

There were thousands of people at Sweetland, with children of all ages hoping to find an egg with money inside. And the candy inside the eggs wasn’t too shabby either.

The event included free balloon animals, cotton candy and vendors cooking up good food.

With no disrespect meant to other egg hunts in our area, all of which do a great job, it’s clear that the Community Bank & Trust event is the go-to egg-hunting event for little ones right now around Easter weekend.
