The Callaway baseball team took a short road trip on Monday to take on Harris County, and it proved to be an even contest that the Tigers were able to come out on top of, 1-0.

The only run in the game would come in the sixth inning when the Tigers got a sacrifice fly to drive in a run just five pitches into the inning.

Despite the offense failing to get going, Brantin Swanson was superb on the mound, pitching all six innings; he allowed just six hits and an earned run on four strikeouts. He also got one of only three hits on the day for the Cavaliers. CJ Stephens went 2-for-3 and stole a base to put together a quality offensive showing. The other seven batters all were unable to reach base safely.

Callaway is fine tuning the team before the playoffs and taking on AAAAA and AAAA teams in its last two games. The Cavaliers are now 14-10 on the season. Callaway is locked in as a four seed and will be on the road to start the AA state playoffs. The Cavaliers will be on the road Friday to non-region opponent Calvary Christian.
