It was another dominant performance for the girls tennis team who beat Cairo 4-0 to book a spot in the AAAA state quarterfinals.

The Grangers completely controlled every match and would have won 5-0 if they did not pull Minchae Kim and Ann Grace Kornek off the court after sealing the win. Kim and Kornek won the first set 6-0 and were leading 4-1 in the second set when the match was pulled.

No. 1 and No. 2 singles players for LaGrange — Sophie Nix and Lauren Burgess — both won 6-0, 6-0 to cruise to a couple of easy wins for the Grangers. No, 3 singles player Anna Rollings was almost as dominant, winning 6-1 in both sets.

The doubles pairing of Alissa Lee and Anna Claire Lumpkin also cleaned house for the Grangers, not dropping a game en route to a 6-0, 6-0 win.

LaGrange awaits its next opponent but are gearing up to face powerhouse Westminster in the elite eight.
