LaGrange beats Bainbridge, advances to the elite eight

The LaGrange boys tennis team is marching on after beating Bainbridge 3-0 in the AAAA state round of 16 on Tuesday.

No. 3 singles player, Henry Huberdeau, was dominant for the Grangers, winning 6-1 and 6-0 to cruise to a victory. The no. 1 double pairing of Towson Partin and Kevin Park was also dominant, cruising to victory behind 6-0, 6-2 sets. The no. 2 doubles pairing of Collin Jefries and Jaehan Seol put the Grangers over the top by winning in two sets (6-3, 6-0).

LaGrange’s no. 2 singles player — Noah Black — was well on his way to victory when his match was pulled. Black won the first set 6-4 and was leading the 5-2 in the second set when LaGrange clinched the victory. No. 1 singles player, Wesley Minicozzi, was in a hard fought battle when his match was pulled. Minicozzi dropped the first set6-4 and was trailing 4-3 in the second set when his match was pulled.

LaGrange will play the winner of Holy Innocents/Sonoraville in the quarterfinals.
