EDITOR’S NOTE: LaGrange High is playing North Oconee in the first two games of the AAAA state championship series tonight in Lawrenceville. If either team wins both games, they are the state champion. If the teams split tonight’s games, then game three will be played Saturday.

GAME TWO

TENTH INNING: WALK OFF WIN! Cole Garner delivers and we will be back for game three tomorrow! Grangers win 6-5 in the 10th.

NINTH INNING: After a Cooper Stephens lead-off walk, the Grangers ended up batting into a double play. Moving on to the tenth.

EIGHTH INNING: Neither team could get much going in this inning. Off to the ninth we go.

SEVENTH INNING: North Oconee had two runners on, and the Grangers managed to get out of the jam without allowing any runs. LaGrange couldn’t get a run across either. We’re going to extra innings. LaGrange must win to keep this championship series going, with a possible game 3 on Saturday.

SIXTH INNING: A wild pitch with the bases loaded has tied the game. 5-5. LaGrange is about to bat in the bottom of the inning.

FIFTH INNING: North Oconee scored on a ground out RBI. LaGrange still leads 5-4.

FOURTH INNING: The Grangers allow one base runner but nothing more as Booton slams the door. In the bottom of the inning, a bases loads walk by Robbie Parker gives Lagrange 4-3 lead. The Grangers tack on one more run to make it 5-3.  LHS left three on heading to top to fifth inning.

SECOND & THIRD INNING: LaGrange has rallied to tie the game. A Cole Garner bases loaded walk made it 3-2 North Oconee. A walk by Stephens led off the bottom. He advanced with soft contact ground out by Tanner Langley. A double from Preston Pressley brought him home to tie game at 3-3.

FIRST INNING (Current Inning): LaGrange is the home team in this game, so North Oconee will bat first. Trevor Booton gets the start on the mound for the Grangers. The Titans storm out of the gates, scoring three runs in the top of he first to put LaGrange to the sword early. Trey Cook leads off for the Grangers for the second consecutive game. Seth Stargell gets on base followed by a blooper single from Cole Garner. Grangers have some life with runners on first and second with one out. Double steal, runners on second and third.

GAME ONE

SIXTH INNING: Robbie Parker starts the Grangers off with a walk. Tanner Langley legs out a single with two out and nobody on. Grangers are down to their final three outs in game one. The Titans bats keep on rolling as the home team for game one takes a commanding 10-1 lead. Kayden Sutton comes into the game on the mound to replace Grady Westmoreland. The third different pitcher in the game for the Grangers. The Titans add another run and the game ends due to mercy rule after six innings.

FINAL SCORE: 11-1 North Oconee

FIFTH INNING:  Rob Skinner doubled, putting runners on second and third with no outs. Cook followed by grounding out for an RBI to put LaGrange on the board, making it 5-1. The Grangers threatened to add more, putting runners on the corners, but North Oconee got out of the jam. North Oconee has a double and a triple in the bottom of the fifth, adding to its lead. Grady Westmoreland comes in for Trey Cook on the mound with no outs. The Titans get a fly out to drive in another run. SCORE: 8-1 North Oconee

FOURTH INNING:  Robbie Parker reached on an error with one out,  and Cooper Stephens walked in the next at bat. LHS had runners on first and second with one out, but the Titans turned a double play and got out of the jam. North Oconee tacked on one run in the bottom of the inning. SCORE: 5-0 North Oconee

THIRD INNING: The Grangers had their best chance to get on the board (so far) in the top of the third inning. Trey Cook hit a single with two outs, his second hit of the game. He’s also the starting pitcher for LHS in game one. Seth Stargell followed with a single, putting runners on first and second. Gryson Cockrell flew out to the end the inning. North Oconee added to its lead in the bottom of the inning with a one out, RBI single. A two out double makes it 4-0 bottom of the third. SCORE: 4-0 North Oconee

SECOND INNING: The Grangers went three up, three down in their turn to bat in the top of the second inning. The Titans capitalize with a run in the bottom of the second with two outs to take an early lead. North Oconee produced an RBI single with two outs. The runner scored from second after stealing that base.  SCORE: 1-0 North Oconee

FIRST INNING: The Grangers strand a runner in the top of the first. After a walk to start the bottom of the first, the Grangers got three relatively easy outs to send the game scoreless to the second inning. SCORE: 0-0
