After falling behind early, the Dodgers rallied to dominate the Space Cowboys 14-4 on Monday in the West Georgia Men’s baseball league.

The Space Cowboys jumped out to an early lead in the top of the first on a RBI-double from Hayden Morgan. The Dodgers answered right back and tied the game in the bottom of the first when Wynton Heard scored. This was just the beginning of a big day for Heard, who went 2-for-2 with four runs scored, two walks and an RBI.

The Space Cowboys were undeterred and took the lead back in the top of the second on a double from Adam Tompkins that drove in two runs.

Morgan came through again for the Space Cowboys in the top of the third and drove in a run with a single to give them a 4-1 lead. Morgan was the most consistent offensive presence for the Space Cowboys, going 2-for-2 with two RBIs.

The lead would not last as the Dodgers bats began to heat up. Antonio Evans Sr. drove in a run with a single to cut the deficit to two. Two batters later the Dodgers had their first lead of the game as Damon Haskett sent the ball over the center field wall to drive in three runs.

The Dodgers offense was just getting started and bombarded the Space Cowboys for five ru8ns in the bottom of the fourth to double their lead. Heard walked with the bases loaded to drive in the first run before Miles Cameron uncorked a grand slam with two outs to give the Dodgers a commanding lead.

Hakeem Stargell got in on the fun with a two-run homer in the bottom of the fifth to give the Dodgers a 12-4 lead.

Haskett and Payton Upchurch both walked with the bases loaded in the sixth inning to drive in the final two runs to end the game by run rule after six innings played.

Evans was a formidable offensive presence for the Dodgers, going 3-for-4 with two runs scored and an RBI. Stargell, Cameron, Haskett, Upchurch and Bo Halcomb all had a hit apiece.

TJ Busbin got the start on the mound for the Dodgers and was outstanding in his two innings on the mound, allowing just two hits on three strikeouts. Stargell came in to relieve him and also excelled, striking out six batters in three innings while allowing just two hits.

Kaleb White went 2-for-2 with a run scored for the Space Cowboys while also getting the start on the mound, going three innings. Tompkins had a hit in the game as the Space Cowboys could only muster five total hits.

The Dodgers (2-1) will play next Monday against the Wood Ducks while the Space Cowboys (1-2) will be back on the diamond on Thursday against the Cubs.
