Two-time Super Bowl champion and LaGrange native Tyrone Poole is planning to host a free youth seminar at the William Griggs Center. The event aims to help with LaGrange’s current epidemic of youth violence.

The Tyrone Poole 38 Foundation will host The Ultimate Success Life Skills Seminar for Youth on Saturday, June 24 from 9 a.m. to 12 p.m. at the Williams J. Griggs Recreation Center on Glenn Robertson Dr. in LaGrange.

The free event is open to middle and high school teens but space is limited to 60 youth.

“The Ultimate Success Life Skills Seminar is a call to action to address the growing challenges and obstacles faced by today’s youth, such as the rise in crime, violence and broken homes,” said LaShell Blue, Executive Director of the Tyrone Pool 38 Foundation.

The seminar will focus on teaching important skills such as resilience, fostering a champion’s mindset, leadership development, conflict resolution and promoting health and wellness through fitness.

“Our aim is to unite together as business and community, and impact and equip the youth of LaGrange, Georgia, with the necessary tools and guidance to become CHAMPIONS in their own lives,” Blue said.

The foundation is also launching a community video campaign to unite the LaGrange community to raise awareness and mobilize our community toward action. Tyrone Poole 38 is asking community members (businesses, citizens, city officials, ministers and educators) to submit a 15-20 second video to show their support for the cause.

Registration for the event has already started and space is limited to 60 participants. Organizers say the event is first come, first served and registration will close upon reaching capacity.
