Once again, The LaGrange Daily News was recognized as one of the top newspapers in the state in the Georgia Press Association’s Better Newspaper contest. 

The LDN won third place in general excellence in Division B and also won the best magazine product in the daily newspaper division in the awards announced in late June.

In addition to placing in general excellence and winning in magazine,  the LDN placed in the following:

• First place in Page One by staff. 
• Third place in Best Layout and Design by staff.
• Second Place in Best Sports Section of Pages by Ethan Stang.
• First Place in Headline Writing by staff.
• Third Place in Editorial Writing by staff.
• Second Place in Local News Coverage by staff.
• Third Place in Serious Column by Daniel Evans

The LDN also won 10 awards in the advertising contest.

“Being recognized by our peers is always very nice, and we’re appreciate of the awards and accolades won via the GPA contest. However, our ultimate goal is to provide a newspaper the LaGrange and Troup County community can be proud of, one that keeps them informed of local events, sports and news,” said Publisher Daniel Evans. “These awards reflect the hard work out of our staff.”

The awards were for work from January 1, 2022, to December 31, 2022.
