Fans of Chris Tomlin are in for an inspirational treat when the musician hits the Sweetland Amphitheatre Friday night.

Tomlin is a contemporary Christian music singer, songwriter, and worship leader originally from Texas who has sold over 7 million records. He is a member of Passion Conferences and some of his most well-known songs are “How Great Is Our God”, “Our God”, “Whom Shall I Fear (God of Angel Armies)” and his cover of “Good Good Father.”

Brent Gibbs, general manager for Sweetland, said Tomin is well-known for his praise and worship music.

“Come Friday night, people will recognize a lot of his music. It’s going to be amazing artistry in terms of the musicianship that will be displayed and the production is going to be wonderful. It’s gearing up to be a great night,” Gibbs said.

Gibbs said there are a variety of tickets still available for the upcoming show.

“We’ve got about 1,500 people coming in tomorrow night as of right now. We hope that we do a strong walk-up sale, but we have plenty more seats available. Chris Tomlin is just a wonderful artist whose songs fill so many churches of all kinds all across the country. We hope that people come and take advantage of that there’s plenty of good seats available,” Gibbs said.

Gibbs said there are pit reserve, premium reserve and lawn tickets available for purchase.

“If you have familiarity with Christian music, you don’t know how many Chris Tomlin songs you actually know because he’s one of the most played artists on all of Christian radio for probably the past 10 years,” Gibbs said.

“Many of his songs have penetrated the Sunday morning or Saturday evening experience for churches. It will be a great night and people are going to know a ton of the music and enjoy the community and gathering together around inspirational themes.”

He also said Tomlin is the first gospel artist to hit the Sweetland stage this year.

“These next two weeks will feature two gospel singers. We have Chris Tomlin this weekend and the amazing Tamela Mann next week.  Later on in the summer, Ricky Skaggs is doing a bluegrass gospel show,” Gibbs said.

“Tickets are currently available for all three shows. They’re amazing nights of family-friendly music and certainly great for inspiration. For those who are familiar with each of their music, it’s conducive for getting their praise on and doing some worship out in underneath a beautiful South Georgia sky.”
