Ryan Bliss is making moves. After making the All-Star Futures Game for the top minor league talent in the country at the MLB All-Star festivities earlier in July Bliss was promoted to the Arizona Diamondback AAA affiliate in Reno, Nevada. Now, he is on the move once again as he is a part of a trade between the Arizona Diamondbacks and Seattle Mariners.

Paul Sewald will be heading to the Diamondbacks in exchange for three players, one of them being the former Troup infielder. Bliss was the 29th ranked prospect in the Diamondbacks farm system.

Bliss, who has twice been named Texas League player of the month twice and hit .358 with a .414 on base percentage to go along with 12 home runs 47 RBIs and 30 stolen bases for the Amarillo Sod Poodles earlier this year. He has made plays in every facet of the game.  Bliss leads the Texas League in runs (67) hits (105), average (.358) and slugging (.594).

“I started off hot and what I’m most proud of is that I’ve been able to keep it up for two months now,” Bliss told the LDN last month. “After the second month that I got Player of the Month, nobody could call it a fluke. That is when I realized I deserve to be here.”

Bliss played in just 13 games with Reno, where he could not find the same success as he did at Amarillo, hitting just .196.

Where he will end up in Seattle’s farm system is yet to be known.
