It is with deep sorrow that we announce the passing of No Yong Suk Williams Biard of LaGrange.

She died, at the age of 72, at her home, Sunday, July 23rd, with her husband of 31 years at her side.

Yong, affectionately known as Suki, was a strong and determined woman who came to this country knowing very little English and to marry a young G.I. that she met while he was stationed in Korea during the Vietnam war.

Although she was a stay- at-home mom to four children, she was able to secure a seamstress job and hone her tailoring skills to support her family after a divorce.

She then met her lifetime partner, Jaimes, and began another chapter of her life that led her to Georgia.

She was able to use her skills and open her own business, Yong’s Sewing, in LaGrange, Georgia. She worked tirelessly to deliver quality workmanship and her loyal customers are a testament to her diligence and high standards.

She was the sole proprietor and employee and ran the business until she was too sick to continue.

There is much to admire about Suki and she will be missed by her husband, family, and friends.

She is survived by her husband: Jaimes, her children: Julia McClelland, Jenivive Williams, Jason Williams, and Jessica McMurtrey; and her grandchildren: Ivan Bennett and Adeline Tedder.

Her stepchildren: Jered Biard, Shelley Owens, and Justin Biard; and her step- grandchildren: Juliet Montemayor, Jocelyn Biard, Jaimeson Biard, Alyssa Behmanesh, Jacob Hadley, Colton Andrews, Logan Biard, Thalia Biard, Liam Biard, Ellianna Biard, and step-great-grandson: Jace Behmanesh.

Yong’s Sewing at 2170 West Point Rd. Ste. 8 is closing as of Aug. 25th. If you believe you have items still at the shop, please call (706)884-4699 and leave a message to schedule a pick-up time. After August 25th, all leftover items will be donated to Goodwill. Thank you for your understanding.
