According to a release for the Troup County Sheriff’s Office, on Aug. 2, at 8:15 a.m., deputies with the Troup County Sheriff’s Office were dispatched to the area of 204 Chase Road regarding a fight that had just occurred between several individuals. After Deputies and Criminal Investigators spoke with all parties involved, they determined three juveniles were at that residence on Chase Road, and the homeowner sent her daughter to remove the teenagers from her house because she was in Newnan at work. An adult, Mackenzie Allen, went to the residence and physically pushed all three teenagers out of the home while talking to her friend Brittney Hall on the phone.

Brittney and her friend, Jonathan Nelson, make their way over to the residence per the request of Mackenzie because she claimed one of the juveniles allegedly struck her in the face with his fist. All the juveniles vacated the residence and were walking away from the incident when Nelson got out of a car, pointed a handgun at one of the juveniles, and fired shots in his direction.   The other two juveniles were in close proximity of the gunshot when Nelson shot at him.

Nelson was charged with Aggravated Assault (2), Reckless Conduct (2), Possession of a Firearm by a convicted felon (1), and Possession of a Firearm in the commission of a crime (1).

Hall was charged with Party of a Crime (due to her facilitating the vehicle and giving Jonathan the gun), Aggravated Assault (2), Reckless Conduct (2), and Possession of Firearm in Commission of Crime (1).

Allen was charged with three counts of Simple Battery.
