The Troup 12u Nationals aka team Georgia bounced back in a big way on Sunday, beating Florida 12-1 after falling to Texas 15-3 last game out on Saturday at the Dixie Youth Baseball World Series.

Team Georgia was led to victory by its two pitchers — Wyatt Martin and Hunter Jordan — who combined to pitch a no-hitter. Martin got the start on the mound and absolutely dominated, pitching three innings while striking out six batters. Joran came in to relieve him and took the baton and ran with it, striking out a batter in his two innings on the mound.

Martin also came through at the plate, going 3-for-3 with two RBIs and a run scored

Georgia got off to another hot start, driving in two runs in the top of the first courtesy of a one-run double from Martin and a one-run single from Bryson Pike.

The offense for team Georgia kept rolling from there, scoring five more runs in the second inning to take a commanding 7-0 lead. Connor Arrington drove in the first two runs in the inning with a double and the offense was off to the races from there. AJ Griffith drove in the next run with a single before a Tae Pope single drove in two more runs to round out the scoring in the inning.

The Georgia offense did not slow down from there, scoring two more runs in the third inning to extend their lead to 9-0. Pike grounded out to drive in the first run followed by a Ben Brown one-run double that drove in the second.

Georgia was not done there, taking a 10-0 lead when Arrington drove in a run on a single in the top of the fourth inning.

Florida got a run back in the bottom of the fourth inning, but Georgia took its double-digit lead right back in the top of the fifth with two runs. Martin drove in the first on a double with Pike driving in the second on a single.

Pope was an offensive force, going 3-for-3 with three runs scored and two RBIs. Arrington and Pike both had big offensive showings as well as they both had two hits and three RBIs. Griffith, Brown, Ezra Cook, and Peyton Spears all had a hit apiece.

Georgia will play Louisiana at 10 a.m. on Monday.
