LaGrange Police are investigating an incident where a person was shot and killed at the Sunny Point Lake Access.

Monday morning around 7:50 a.m., officers with the LaGrange Police Department received a call service about a person who had been shot near the access.

Officers arrived and located a deceased victim near the picnic area of Sunny Point Access cul de sac according to LPD Major Dale Strickland.

Strickland said the department is actively investigating the case as a homicide.

No identifying details of the victim have been released at this time. Strickland said they are still working to notify the victim’s family.

“It’s still a very active, very, very active investigation,” Strickland said.
