Troup alum Jamari Thrash enjoyed his Louisville debut on Friday night, helping lead the Cardinals to a comeback win over Georgia Tech in their season opener.

The Georgia State transfer reeled in seven catches for 88 yards and two touchdowns, all game highs in the game.

Thrash’s most important catch in the game came with eight minutes left to go in the game when he caught a 20-yard touchdown to put the Cardinals up 29-28.

Thrash was major reason that Louisville was able to overcome a 15 point deficit at halftime to stun the Yellow Jackets.

It took a little while in the game for Thrash to find his rhythm with his new quarterback Jack Plummer, but eventually the two got on the same page.

Thrash transferred to Louisville to play in big primetime games like the one on Friday night and he lived up to the hype.

Thrash was a pre-season finalist for the Biletnikoff Award given to the best wide receiver in college football each season.

Thrash and Louisville will be looking to keep up their hot start to the season when they host Murray State next Thursday.
