Carmella Yvonne Harris Hurston, 55 of 104 Brookside Terrace, transitioned last Thursday at Kennestone Wellstar Hospital in Marietta.

Carmella Yvonne Harris Hurston the daughter of the late Emmitt and Carolyn Elaine Harris, was born in Lagrange.

She was a graduate of Lagrange High School and was “A Master Chef” receiving her degree from the Culinary Arts of Atlanta.

Carmella retired from Duracell after many years of service and was the Owner of Taste of Heaven Restaurant known for her famous 30 Dollar Burger and Lemon Lush dessert.

Carmella will always be remembered by those she touched in her life’s journey; ” She Expressed Her Love Thru Food.”

She leaves to cherish her memory; two sons; Marteze and LaMarcus Harris, one daughter Teara Harris all of Lagrange, one brother Emmitt Harris, Jr. of Indianapolis, ID. and one sister Tara (Tim) Ogletree of Lagrange, fourteen grandchildren, two great grandchildren, nephews, nieces, cousins, relatives, and special friends.

Carmella is preceded in death in addition to her parents by her son Antione Harris.

Graveside services will be held on Saturday at 11 A.M. in Southview Cemetery with Rev. Marlon Simpson and Rev. Michael Jackson officiating.

Public Chapel viewing will be held on Friday from 5pm-8pm. Family will receive friends at her home at 104 Brookside Terrace.
