After a heartbreaking loss to Harris County last time out, the LaGrange softball team traveled up to Fayette County on Thursday and returned with a dominant 14-1 region victory.

The Granger bats were a little slow to get going, but eventually the team broke through offensively, scoring four runs in the top of the third to take the lead.

Fayette County struck back with a run in the bottom of the third, but it did little to change the momentum.

The Grangers tacked on seven runs in the fourth inning before adding three more in the fifth to trigger the run rule.

The lone senior on the team, McKinsey Gaddy, got the start on the mound for the Grangers and dominated, allowing just four hits and one earned run on five strikeouts. She aided her cause from the plate as well, hitting a single and a double while driving in a run and scoring one as well.

Abby McGill hit in the leadoff spot and led the offensive charge, going 3-for-5 with two RBIs and two runs scored.

Siggers was also superb from the plate, driving in two runs and scoring two as well. Siggers had two hits and was one of three Grangers to hit a triple alongside McGill and Tatum Nation.

Kimberley Reynolds, Carolyne Garcia, Hudson Wood and Jasia Swanson all had a hit apiece.

LaGrange is now 7-4 overall and a perfect 7-0 in region play. The Grangers will take part in the Trojan Slam Tournament at Rockmart High on Friday evening.

LaGrange has not played a home game since sweeping a doubleheader versus Riverdale on Aug. 18 and will not return to Granger Park until the Grangers host rivals Troup next Thursday.
