Not much went Callaway’s way in its 12-2 loss to Eagle’s Landing Christian Academy on Tuesday.

The Cavaliers fell behind 1-0 in the top of the first inning and were never quite able to recover.

Eagle’s Landing added to its lead with five runs in the third inning although the Cavaliers struck back with their only two runs in the bottom of that very same inning.

Kyla Harris got the fun started for the Cavaliers when she bombed a triple to right field and showed off how far her repaired ACL has come since last year.

Harris ended up scoring on a dropped third strike.

Eagle’s Landing was able to get some separation late.

Kinley Smith and Savannah Rice helped lead the way offensively with two hits each. Harris and Kaitlyn Williams each had a hit apiece.

Williams got the start on the mound and went two innings before making way for Mackenzie Toney and Bella Cleveland.

Callaway will have another big region showdown on Thursday when the team takes on Redan on the road.
