Sara L Hopson, 98, of LaGrange, Georgia went to be with the Lord on Wednesday, Sept. 13, 2023. Sara was born Oct. 21, 1924, in LaGrange, Georgia to the late Hamilton Traylor Loyd and Rebie Estelle Dixon Loyd.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Wallace “Red” Leon Hopson and son, Bobby Hopson.

She is survived by her children, Nancy King of Kennesaw, Georgia, Glenn (Dot) Hopson of Deepstep, Georgia and Jeff (Lisa) Hopson of Powhatan, VA; daughter-in-law Donna Hopson of Roswell, Georgia; grandchildren, Steve (Celeste) King of Marietta, Georgia, Jeremy (Mary) Hopson of Denver, CO, Matt King of Kennesaw, Georgia, Meredith (Conor) Galvin of Houston, TX, Brad (Josey) Hopson of Charleston, SC, Jill Hopson of Smyrna, Georgia and great grandchild Benjamin Hopson of Charleston SC.

Sara was a life-long resident of LaGrange and loved her city greatly. She was a devoted wife, mother and grandmother. She was a member of First Baptist Church on the Square where she worshiped and served for many years.

A Graveside Funeral Service will be held 1 P.M. Saturday, Sept. 16, 2023, at Shadowlawn Cemetery in LaGrange, Georgia with Rev. Dr. Paul Baxter and Rev. Paul Blair officiating.

In lieu of flowers, contributions in Sara’s memory may be made to First Baptist Church Flower Fund, LaGrange, Georgia; and Lloyd Presbyterian Church, LaGrange, Georgia.
