The LaGrange Police Department is investigating after a person was struck and killed by a train Sunday morning.

The LPD responded to the railroad tracks near the intersection of Miller Street and Murphy Avenue. The victim was identified as Billy Joe Yarbrough, 61. The victim was pronounced deceased on scene by Deputy Coroner Josh Speelman.

This incident is currently being investigated by the LPD’s Criminal Investigations Division and CSX Investigators.
