Troup softball cruised to a win in its penultimate region game of the 2023 regular season. The Tigers pummeled Fayette County 17-0.

The game lasted all of 2.5 innings as the Tigers made short work of their region foes, scoring two runs in the first before busting the game open in the second inning with 15 runs.

Senior Hadilee Arnold had one of her best career games with the Tigers, going 3-for-3 with five RBIs and three runs scored to lead the offensive charge.

She was not the only Tiger that had a strong offensive showing as Camdyn Bassett was 3-for-3 while Haley Kitchens was 2-for-3 with three runs scored. Senior Madeira Sirmons had two hits while Sheniyah Philpot, Kaitlyn Smalley, Patience Watkins, Gracie Baker and Zoe Graham all had a hit apiece.

Smalley and Anna Grace Keller combined to pitch a no-hitter with Smalley getting the start and striking out five in her two innings of work. Keller pitched the third and final inning, striking out the side.

Troup has won five of its last six games to improve to 11-10 overall and 7-4 in region play. This was the final home game of the season for the Tigers who will play their final regular season game next Tuesday on the road to Trinity Christian.

Troup currently sits fourth in region 4-4A, but a win over the Lions in its regular season finale will see the Tigers finish third in the regular season standings.
