LaGrange cruised to a 9-1 victory in their penultimate region game of the year against Starr’s Mill.
The Panthers came out swinging to start the game, scoring their only run in the top of the first inning.
LaGrange settled in and dominated from that point on.
The Grangers eventually took the lead in the bottom of the second with four runs.
Abby McGill got the fun started for LaGrange when she hit a bases clearing triple.
Shelby Siggers singled to bring home the fourth and final run of the inning.
The Grangers continued to add to their lead from there. Back-to-back doubles from Jasia Swanson and McGill drove in two runs for the home team in the bottom of the third.
Siggers drove in the third run of the third inning with a single.
The Grangers added a run in each of the fifth and sixth innings with Siggers hitting a one-run single in the former and an error allowing Carolyne Garcia to score the final run of the game in the latter.
Siggers, a sophomore, was immense from the plate, going 4-for-4 with three RBIs.
McGill was just as superb on offense, going 2-for-4 with four RBIs and two runs scored.
Tatiana Dudley had three hits and led the team with three runs scored. Garcia and McKinsey Gaddy had two hits apiece while Swanson and Kimberly Reynolds had one hit each.
Gaddy got the start on the mound, pitching a dominant five innings in which allowed just two hits. Kaylee Foster pitched the final inning and slammed the door on any attempt at a Panther rally.
