Mr. Randy “Steve” Butler, age 65, passed away on Oct. 16, 2023. 

He was born in Heard County on Feb. 13, 1958, to Joan Griffin and the late Talmedge Butler. 

Steve was a devoted son, brother, father, and grandfather. He was a faithful servant of Christ, a loving friend, and a great cook.

In addition to his father, Mr. Butler is preceded in death by his brother, Donny Butler. Mr. Butler is survived by his mother, Joan Griffin; step-father, Ralph Griffin; his children, Brandi Aldridge (Brian), Brook Efird (Johnny), and Caleb Shaw; his brother, Tim Griffin; his sister, Brenda H. Cross; his grandchildren, Aly Fuqua, Makayla Butler, Randy Fuqua, Haydon Butler, and Bracie Ferrell (Jack); his great-grandchild, Amelia Ferrell.

Blessed are those who plant trees under whose shade they will never sit.

Please keep the family in your thoughts and prayers as they make their way through this very challenging time. The funeral service will be held at Baptist Tabernacle on Sunday, Oct. 22, 2023, at 3 P.M. 

The family will receive friends at the church from 1 P.M. until service time on Sunday.  The committal service will directly follow the funeral and will be held at Meadoway Gardens in LaGrange. Pastor Jimmy McMillian and Kenneth Binion will officiate the service.
