After a monster performance in game one of the playoffs against Cairo, Troup came out a bit flat in a 6-1 loss to Perry in game two on Wednesday.

The Tigers surrendered three runs in the top of the first and could never quite find their footing in the game from there.

Troup was able to strike back in the top of the second when Kaylee Umfress hit a one-run single. The Tigers had the bases loaded with just one out but were not able to plate any more runs which proved costly.

Perry added two more runs in the bottom of the fifth and the last run of the game in the sixth inning.

Troup was able to get runners on second and third in the top of the sixth inning, but that would be as close as the Tigers would come to adding more runs to their ledger.

Offense was at a premium for Troup in this game. Umfress and Anna Grace Keller had a hit apiece with errors accounting for the other Tiger base runners in the game.

Keller got the start on the mound, pitching all six innings while allowing just four hits on eight strikeouts.

Troup will have a rematch with Cairo on Thursday at 11 a.m. in an elimination game. The winner of that game will advance to play Perry for the super regional championship. The Tigers beat super regional hosts Cairo 7-5 in the opening game of the playoffs.
