Sweetland Amphitheatre is set to close out its 2023 concert series with a smash finale.

Multi-platinum, Grammy award-winning band Blues Traveler will take the stage on Friday night along with The Robert Randolph Band.

The band’s biggest hit “Run-Around,” spent nearly a year on the Billboard charts reaching No. 8 and propelling the group to win a Grammy Award for Best Rock Performance in 1996.

Front manned by harmonicist, singer and guitarist John Popper, the group saw multiple Top-40 hits throughout the 1990s.

Their latest album, Traveler’s Blues, was released in July 2021, and was nominated by The Recording Academy for Best Traditional Blues album at the 2022 Grammy Awards.

“Tomorrow night is definitely going to be one of the fun nights of the year. I think it’s going to be a big opportunity for people to party and just enjoy good times,” Sweetland General Manager Brent Gibbs said.

Gibbs said they are expecting a pretty full house for the show with about 1,800 tickets sold as of Thursday. He said plenty of good seats are available, but they are filling up.

“I think if the weather looks good, I’d like to think that some people walk up and decide to have a great night at Sweetland tomorrow night,” Gibbs said.

Gibbs thanked the LaGrange and Troup County community for all of their support throughout the shows this year.

“We’re delighted to go out on a high note, and we’re working hard already to confirm an entire season for 2024,” Gibbs said, noting Sweetland on Ice is up next.

Tickets for the show are available at www.sweetlandamp.com. Doors open at 6:30 p.m. on Friday with the show starting at 7:30 p.m.
