Mr. Donald G. Thomas,  Sr. passed away Tuesday. He was born  Tuesday, Aug. 13, 1940, in LaGrange, Georgia to the union of Robert Edward Thomas and Alice Virginia Riley Thomas.

He joined First Baptist Church on Fannin Street, at an early age. He graduated from Ethel Kight and earned a B. S. Degree from Fort Valley in Health and Physical Education.

Donald began his teaching and coaching career at Mt. Pleasant Elementary School and Troup Jr. High School.

Survivors include his son, Dr. Donald Thomas, Jr. (Imani Thomas), Smyrna, Georgia; daughter, Dena Thomas-Hall (Chauncy Bradford), LaGrange, Georgia; grandchildren; great grandchildren; sisters:  Gwendolyn Cartlidge, Barbara Jean Thomas, Betty Dowell, all of LaGrange, Georgia; Betty Ann Pope and Harriett Ball, Dothan, Alabama; and two brothers:  Perrin T. Thomas, Sr. (Bernice Thomas) and Ridley A. Thomas; a very special brother, Sammie L. Gilbert, all of LaGrange, Georgia; and an array of nieces, nephews, aunts, cousins, friends, and awesome neighbors.

The Service will be Saturday at 3 P.M. in the Chapel of Lakes-Dunson-Robertson Funeral Home.
