In Hogansville’s Post 5 race, a new representative will be elected, as both Jason Baswell and Kandis Strickland are newcomers to Hogansville politics.

Jason Baswell

1. Give me your last-second pitch on why someone should vote for you.

“I feel like I’m very qualified to help the city out. I’ve got a lot of experience in operations with many aspects of budgeting and zoning planning.”

2. List your top three priorities.

“Safety/emergency services, infrastructure, and the third one would be an open line of communication with the public.”

3. Of those priorities, which one can you immediately make a difference in? How and why?

“I would open communications with the public and get out and meet with them. I would let them know what’s going on and encourage them to attend meetings.”

4. How would you handle a situation where the majority of the council felt differently than you, and you needed to sway their opinion?

“I would present facts on why I believe it should go this way or the other way to let them know my thought process on a certain topic.”

5. What’s an interesting fact about you that voters may not know?

“I really enjoy going to my daughter’s Callaway cheer competitions and soccer games.”
