Dickey’s Barbecue is opening a new restaurant in LaGrange in the location where Rhodes Casual Dining has operated.

Rhodes posted a thank you message to its customers on Tuesday morning, announcing its closure.

The new Dickey’s restaurant, located at 1604 Whitesville Road, is scheduled to open at the end of 2023.

Dicky’s has operated since 1941 and currently features eight signature slow-smoked meats, smoked on-site over hickory wood, and 12 homestyle sides.

“Dickey’s is not just a restaurant; it represents the fusion of exceptional barbecue traditions with a sense of heart and community,” said Farrell Winchester, Director of Operations at IGB. “We are delighted to introduce LaGrange to Dickey’s rich heritage, providing deeply flavorful meals that cater to the palate and foster a sense of togetherness within the community. “Dickey’s strives to become a solid foundation within the community not just by supporting local events and building lasting relationships but also by energizing the local economy. We are thrilled to create new job opportunities, draw in visitors, and enhance LaGrange’s lively food scene. Our presence here extends beyond serving delicious food; it showcases our unwavering dedication to becoming an engaged and valuable member of the LaGrange community.”

Rhodes thanked all of its customers over the years.

“We want to take this moment to express our deepest gratitude to every customer, friend, and family member who has been a part of this wonderful experience. Your patronage and kind words have warmed our hearts and fueled our passion,” a message that was signed from The Rhodes Casual Dining team said on Facebook. “This may be the end of our restaurant, but it’s not the end of the connections we’ve made. We hope to stay in touch and share new adventures with you in the future. Our journey continues, and we hope to have you by our side.”
