Pair charged in felony drug investigation

Troup County Sheriff’s Deputies have arrested two individuals as the result of a drug investigation on Indian Bend Drive.

Matthew “Wilson” Strickland and Natasha Brazil were arrested on various felony charges during a drug search.

On Thursday, Nov. 9, 2023, Troup County Sheriff’s Office Narcotics Investigators along with members of the Georgia Bureau of Investigation West Metro Regional Drug Enforcement Office, conducted a narcotics search warrant at a residence in the 100 block of Indian Bend Drive in Troup County.

During the search of the residence and property, investigators found Strickland and Brazil along with undisclosed amounts of methamphetamine, marijuana and numerous firearms.

Both suspects were arrested and transported to the Troup County Jail where they were booked on various felony charges

Strickland was charged with possession of methamphetamine with intent to distribute, possession of marijuana with Intent to distribute and four counts of possession of a firearm by a convicted felon

Brazil was charged with possession of methamphetamine.

Strickland was also found to have outstanding warrants through Haralson County for conspiracy to traffic methamphetamine and use of a communication facility to commit a felony.
