The LaGrange boys basketball team went into hostile territory on Friday evening and pulled out a 59-39 win over Heard County in a chippy affair.

The game had a little bit of everything with the Braves getting called for three separate flagrant fouls and both teams being issued technical fouls during the game.

The early portions of the game were all defense as both offenses struggled to find the bottom of the basket. LaGrange took a 16-12 lead after the first quarter, but the Braves outplayed the Grangers in the second quarter and tied the game at 25 heading to the break.

LaGrange completely controlled the third quarter to take command of the game. The defensive pressure ramped up and the Grangers were able to take a double-digit lead into the fourth quarter, where they closed out the game in style.

It was a balanced Granger attack with Zai Peagler leading the way with 14 points and a few rim-rattling dunks that got the well-traveled student section up off their feet. Torian Reeves finished with 11 points. Point guard BJ Wortham kept the offense ticking with his ability to move the rock around and finished with eight points himself.

LaGrange (3-0) will look to keep its undefeated start to the season alive next Friday as the team travels to take on Harris County.
