xThe LaGrange boys basketball team used a second-half surge to run away from Harris County and earn a 62-47 road victory to keep their undefeated start to the season alive through four games.
The first half was back-and-forth with neither team giving an inch. It culminated in the Tigers getting a technical foul assessed to them just before halftime, which allowed the Grangers to tie the game at 34 heading into halftime
It was a much-needed momentum boost for the Grangers, who trailed 20-18 after the first quarter before leveling the game in the second quarter.
The Grangers used swarming defense in the third quarter to take over the game. The Grangers outscored the Tigers 21-2 in the quarter to take a commanding 55-36 lead into the fourth quarter.
Torrian Reeves in the middle quarters as he scored 17 of his game-high 19 points in the second and third quarters.
Even with a shot clock, the Grangers grinded the game out in the fourth quarter by just keeping the ball away from the Tigers as they had already built an insurmountable lead.
Jaron Stafford put together a sharp offensive performance for the Grangers with 13 points. No other Grangers cracked double-digits scoring as it was a total team effort on the offensive side of the floor.
LaGrange (4-0) will put its undefeated season on the line once again on Saturday when the team travels to take on Lamar County.
