The Callaway Cavaliers blew out McNair 71-18 on Tuesday to earn the first win of the Kenny Coleman era. After a couple of close losses in the opening two games of the season, the Cavaliers took care of business to get their head coach his first win at the high school level.
Who else would lead the way for the Cavaliers on the court other than Coleman’s son, DeShun On a night when 10 different Cavaliers scored, it was DeShun who led the way with 19 points.
The Cavaliers dispatched the Mustangs with relative ease as they did not allow a single point in the first quarter. It did not get much better for the Mustangs from there as the Cavalier defense never gave an inch.
The 15-0 lead after the first quarter quickly turned into a 39-10 lead at halftime.
Callaway did not let the Mustangs back in the game in the second half
Torri Truitt was the only Cavalier to get into double figures besides Coleman. Treyonn Tucker got the start and had a solid night himself with nine points. Tyren Buggs had eight points while D’Arcy Harris led the second unit with six points.
Callaway (1-2)(1-1) will play Landmark Christian on Friday in another important region clash.
